1)   Host, Speakeasy Series 

SLWB is looking for a Host to be the main MC of our podcast. As part of the team, you will bring to the table the seeds of stories that are relevant and engaging, and nurture them to a full-fledged episode. As we explore and share stories that affect, are lead by, and center around the lived experienced of the Sri Lankan diaspora, you will serve as the voice of our podcast.

You will:

  • Host the podcast as its main MC.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for themes, topics and structure of the podcast.
  • Lead researches and script-writing process.
  • Provide logistical support to coordinate all podcast tapings.
  • Coordinate with guest speakers.
  • Bring to the team your love of storytelling and the podcast medium.

Prior experience in voice acting, script writing and audio production considered an asset. Position reports to Producer, Speakeasy Series.

2)   Associate Producer, Speakeasy Series

SLWB is looking for an Associate Producer to help lead the production cycle of SLWB podcast series, from research to recording. Working with the production team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise as well as overseeing the production calendar to ensure that SLWB Podcast is generating relevant and engaging content in a timely manner.

You will:

  • Have experience in audio production and relevant software programs such as Audacity.
  • Be responsible for recording and editing of the podcast episodes.
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining the production calendar.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote podcasts with SLWB audience.
  • Participate and support the pre-production process to generate content.

3)   Scriptwriter, Speakeasy Series 

SLWB is looking for a Scriptwriter to co-write the stories for the podcast. As part of the team, you will bring to the table the seeds of stories that are relevant and engaging, and nurture them to a full-fledged episode. As we explore and share stories that affect, are lead by, and center around the lived experienced of the Sri Lankan diaspora, you will serve as the starting point for these narratives.

You will:

  • Have background preferably in the humanities or social sciences.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for themes, topics and structures of the podcast.
  • Lead researches and script-writing process.
  • Provide logistical support to coordinate all podcast tapings.
  • Coordinate with guest speakers.
  • Bring to the team your love for the medium of podcast and storytelling.

Position reports to: Producer, Speakeasy Series.

4)   Director of Finance

  •  Develop a financial strategy and goals to meet SLWB’s financial goals including event revenue, operational revenue, financial reserves.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the BoDs through the development and monitoring of the budget (event budgets, organization budget)
  • Research, prepare and submit the annual budget for Board approval
  • Provide quarterly updates on the budget at board meetings
  • Provide leadership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation and non-profit guidelines
  • Provide leadership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according generally accepted accounting principles
  • Maintain full and accurate accounting records through the establishment and maintenance of financial processes
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports
  • Prepare invoices, tender documents and administer contracts
  • Establish and maintain cash controls
  • Manage and coordinate accounts payable and banking
  • Align CTAA’s financials to apply for government and foundation funding
  • Initiate process for eventual internal auditing for CTAA
  • Develop a process of procurement and oversee requests for proposals
  • Perform other duties as required
